Barre Define offers a range of ballet-inspired fitness classes for all abilities, in Bury St Edmunds and Lawshall, Suffolk.
Classes include:
-
barre
-
ballet-based aerobics
-
mat-based classes
-
over 50s classical ballet
-
classes for mums with their babies in buggies.
These classes can make a great addition to your injury rehabilitation programme as they are low-impact (or have a low-impact option) and the focus is on strengthening, improving posture, stability and muscular endurance whilst maintaining correct technique and alignment.
Many participants have reported a reduction in back pain, joint issues and symptoms of chronic illnesses, as well as noticing a greater range of movement and flexibility and even better mood and sleep quality.
Taught by fully qualified, insured and experienced professionals in dance and fitness.

I became convinced of the effectiveness of acupuncture after being treated successfully for a condition that had not responded to conventional medical treatment.
I trained for four years at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, which is the only institution to fully integrate the two major branches of Acupuncture: TCM and 5 Elements.
To complement my practice, I also draw on my training in counselling.
I have a comprehensive approach to treatment: by taking into account all your signs and symptoms I can tailor a treatment plan that best suits your individual needs and is most likely to lead to lasting positive change.

Leah Orr
Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
BSC Hons
My name is Leah and I’ve been working in therapeutic communities for over 18 years. I started out working in criminal justice and substance abuse then have slowly traversed to running my counselling practice for adults and young people.
Over the years I have had the pleasure of working with many fascinating and inspiring people who have ensured I could never get bored of the work I do.
When I’m not working, I enjoy being outdoors in wide-open space, walking my dog, running, watching my children grow and enjoying being around people, family, and friends.
The most familiar phrase I’ve heard in this job is, “bet you’ve never had to do any of this stuff”. Believe me, I would not do the work I do if I didn’t trust first-hand that it works.
